Ratingen, Germany, May 31, 2022 — ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the Chakram X, the first ROG mouse equipped with the new ROG AimPoint optical mouse sensor. This 36,000 dpi optical sensor features an 8000 Hz polling rate to provide the Chakram X with unrivalled precision. It builds on the design of the original Chakram gaming mouse, this time with a larger concave-shaped joystick that provides superior reach and control and can be used in both analog and digital modes. Gamers can also program up to 11 functions on the Chakram X for customized controls for different games and tasks.
The Chakram X features an ultrafast wireless RF 2.4 GHz mode, Bluetooth® to pair up to three devices, and a wired USB mode that fast-charges the mouse even while in use. The screwless magnetic buttons and top cover enable easy access for gamers who want to customize click feel or insert a personalized insignia for a unique look.
Take aim with unmatched precision and accuracy
The Chakram X is equipped with the ROG AimPoint optical sensor, the first-ever ROG-developed sensor. It enables the Chakram X to track every movement with unrivaled precision and responsiveness at sensitivity levels ranging from 100 to 36,000 dpi. It registers movement at speeds of up to 650 inches per second (ips) at up to 50 g acceleration. The sensor also features industry-leading < 1% CPI deviation and up to an 8000 Hz polling rate. A speed and precision that decide about victory and defeat in fast FPS games as well as in demanding MMORPGs.
Total control
Much like its predecessor, the Chakram X boasts two new concave joystick options that are positioned closer to the palm for better reach and control. A long and a short joystick are included to accommodate different hand shapes and play styles. The joystick can also be removed and replaced with a socket cover for a flush finish.
The joystick can be used in analog or digital mode to suit different play styles. In analog mode, it acts as a standard joystick or gamepad thumbstick, allowing the user to roam the gaming world with one hand. Digital mode turns the joystick into a button with four programmable directions, giving users pre-set commands to reload, switch weapons, tilt, talk, summon a map, scroll web pages, or perform any other action. Together with its seven buttons, the Chakram X allows gamers to program up to 11 functions for different games and tasks. Plus, up to five profiles can be saved using onboard memory, providing personalized settings.
Tri-mode connectivity
Gamers can connect the Chakram X using an ultrafast wireless RF 2.4 GHz connection or via Bluetooth fast-pairing technology, which enables up to three devices to be connected. There’s also the option to fast-charge[1] a device while playing via wired USB connection.
A high-capacity battery provides up to 114 hours of nonstop gaming on a full charge, and the Chakram X can be topped-up wirelessly with a Qi-compatible charging surface. Alternatively, the fast-charge feature allows users to squeeze up to 25 hours of gameplay out of a 15-minute quick-charge.

A unique look and feel
The screwless magnetic buttons and top cover provide easy access, giving gamers the freedom to customize click feel or to insert a personalized insignia for a unique look. The ROG-exclusive Push-Fit Switch Socket II design makes it easy to hot swap 3-pin mechanical switches or 5-pin optical micro switches — allowing users to tailor operating force and feedback to preference or replace worn or broken switches. In addition, the mouse comes equipped with the ROG Micro Switch that features a 70-million-click lifespan and a gold-plated electro-junction to improve durability.
